Thad D. Runions, age 46, passed away on August 25, 2026, in Columbia, Tennessee.
A Maury County native, Thad was the son of Maybern Runions and the late Sondra Odom Runions. His life changed forever when he met the love of his life, Tiffany, on a blind date. It did not take long for them to realize they had found something special. After three short months, they were engaged, and three months later, they tied the knot. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed two daughters, Kadence and Maybree, who were undoubtedly the greatest joys of his life.
Thad was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loving brother, and a loyal friend. To know him was to know laughter, and most likely to find yourself on the receiving end of one of his relentless banter. He never missed an opportunity for playful jokes or to rile someone up, all in good fun. His quick wit, lively personality, and unmistakable sense of humor could brighten any gathering and leave behind a story worth retelling.
Many treasured memories were made with Thad outdoors, especially anywhere that involved water. Whether surrounded by family, friends, or a good opportunity for a little mischief, he knew how to enjoy life and make the moment memorable.
Thad also had a true “buy, sell, and trade” spirit or, as those who knew him best would call it, a lifelong love of “wheelin’ and dealin’.” Beginning at just 18 years old, he developed an impressive knowledge of firearms and artillery, along with an impeccable memory. Thad could recall nearly every sale he had ever made, regardless of how many years had passed. He always seemed to remember who bought what, what it was worth, and probably whether he could make another deal on it.
Above all, Thad will be remembered for the love he had for his family, the laughter he brought into the lives of others, and the countless stories and memories that will continue to be shared for years to come.
His memory will be cherished by his wife of 21 years, Tiffany Fitzgerald Runions; his beloved daughters, Kadence and Maybree Runions; his father, Maybern Runions; his brother, Rodney (Lorrie) Runions; brother-in-law, Daniel (Jena) Wray; nieces and nephews, Chase (Chloe) Runions, Alexis Runions, Lauren (Avory) Hicks, and Zak Wray; father-in-law, Danny Wray; and special friend, Donny Boshers.
Thad was preceded in death by his mother, Sondra Odom Runions, and his mother-in-law, Karen Wray.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Rodney Runions, Chase Runions, Daniel Davis, Daniel Wray, Trent Odom, Wayne Chapman, Damiyon Bentley, and Mike Flick. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Grissom, Ronnie Ray, Danny Shaffer, PeeWee, Greg Brown, Michael Odom, Donny Boshers, Issac Moore, and all his trading buddies.
A funeral service will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with visitation beginning two hours prior to the service. Following the service, Thad will be laid to rest at Boshers Family Cemetery.
