Timothy “Tim/Timmy” Anderson Hughes, age 57, passed away on April 8, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee. He was born on September 10, 1968, in Franklin, Tennessee, to Richard Anderson Hughes and Delois Louise Hughes (Tomlin).

Tim spent much of his career as a dedicated hairdresser, where he formed lasting relationships and brought joy to those he served. Later in life, he transitioned into a new career as a financial specialist at First Citizens National Bank, continuing to connect with others through his warmth and personality.

Tim had a deep love for life and enjoyed a variety of pastimes. He especially loved gambling and could often be found playing bingo, pull tabs, or visiting the casino. He also enjoyed attending concerts, playing cards, and relaxing with games on his phone. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Tim brought laughter wherever he went—you never quite knew what he might say next.

To his family, he was lovingly known as “Timmy” or “Uncle Tim Tim,” a reflection of the special bond he shared with those closest to him.

He is survived by his mother, Delois Hughes; his brother, Jim “Jimbo” Hughes; his sisters, Lois "Shelley" Gibson, Jennifer Hughes, and Angelique Hughes; his nieces, Monica Vasquez, April Oñate, Brittany Hughes, Gabrielle Hughes, and Victoria Hughes; his nephews, Austin Hughes, Eli Hughes, and Zachary Nicholson; as well as 11 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Anderson Hughes; his grandmother, Hattie Tomlin (Hood); and his great-grandmother, Joanna Hood (Fitts).

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 18, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Columbia location of Williams Funeral Home (2517 Trotwood Ave.) A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. Friends and loved ones are encouraged to attend and share cherished stories and memories in honor of Timothy’s life.
