Todd McLean Nisbet passed away peacefully in his Columbia, Tennessee home on June 18, 2025, joining his Savior who gave him peace and comfort.
Born on July 24, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, he was the beloved son of the late Michael and Karen Nisbet. Todd lived a full and vibrant life, known for his unwavering determination, fun-loving spirit, and sharp sense of humor. A passionate skier, runner and world traveler, he embraced every opportunity with energy and heart.
His bachelor’s degree was earned at the University of Southern California and he was a dedicated USC football fan, enjoying many a Rose Bowl over the years. While employed at AT&T in the late 1990s, Todd received his master’s degree from Seton Hall.
In 2000, he took his young family on a new adventure back to where he grew up – California. His time as a digital entertainment executive at The Walt Disney Company provided his family with many special and memorable experiences. After moving to Tennessee, Todd spent 14 successful years with North Highland Consulting where he forged many important partnerships and friendships.
Beyond his professional achievements, Todd was a committed Phi Delta Theta volunteer and leader. He served in many positions over the years, with his final role as a member of the General Council being his greatest privilege and honor. Being a Phi was a natural fit for Todd because he found joy in helping others find their path. He was a natural mentor who guided many in finding their sense of purpose, always ready to lend an encouraging word or make a career connection.
Todd is survived by his proud wife of 34 years, Anita Nisbet, and his cherished children, Virginia Nisbet, Harry Nisbet and Emma Nisbet. He is also survived by his brothers, Scott (Kathleen) Nisbet and Craig (Robyn) Nisbet, nephews Ryan, Sean and Nick Nisbet and niece Sara Nisbet. Along with his aunts Lorie McNeil and Pattee O’Brien and several cousins, he will also be greatly missed by his Phi Delta Theta brothers and close circle of friends and colleagues.
Todd fought his personal battle against ALS for three years, but he served in the fight to find a cure and assist those living with this disease for many years preceding his own diagnosis, with the Live Like Lou Foundation. It was his fervent prayer that a cure would be found, if not in his lifetime, within his children’s lifetime.
Todd’s legacy of kindness, perseverance and loyalty will live on in his children and the lives he touched. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him.
A celebration of life service and reception for Todd will be held on Sunday, June 29 at 2 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee.
