William “Bill” Sharp, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home on May 1, 2026 in Columbia, Tennessee. Bill was born on June 5, 1943 in Fairmont, Virginia to the late Orville and Goldie Sharp.
Bill was a man of deep faith, strong character, and a servant’s heart. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves for nine years. An outdoorsman at heart, Bill found joy in hunting and spending time in nature. He also had a passion for teaching, especially in the field of CNC machinery, where he shared his knowledge generously with others. His love for teaching extended into his church, where he was actively involved and cherished his time teaching Bible school.
Above all, Bill was devoted to his family. He shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Rosemarie, building a life rooted in love, faith, and lasting memories.
Bill is preceded in death by parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie Sharp; his children, Star Sharp DiFonzo and William Sharp, Jr.; his grandsons, William Sharp III and Matthew DiFonzo; and his great-grandson, Michael Sharp.
Pallbearers will be William Sharp III, Matthew DiFonzo, Michael Sharp, Elliott Hampton, Melvin Buckner, and W.T. Pence.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 4, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. A service celebrating Bill’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.
Bill will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM, with Post 19 rendering military honors.
Bill’s legacy of faith, kindness, and dedication to both his family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
