Winnie Sparks, age 70, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.
Born on November 11, 1955, in Spring Hill, Tennessee, Winnie was the daughter of the late Charlie and Lena Mosley. She was a woman whose sass, humor, loyalty, and unwavering love for her family made her unforgettable. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Winnie was truly the best mom her daughters could have ever asked for. She worked tirelessly throughout her life to provide for those she loved, always putting her family's needs before her own.
For many years, Winnie served as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a career that perfectly reflected her compassionate and caring heart. Whether she was caring for patients or lending a helping hand to family, friends, or neighbors, she had a natural gift for making others feel loved and cared for.
Nothing in Winnie's life brought her greater joy than her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-granddaughters. She treasured every moment spent with them and created countless memories they will carry with them forever. She also enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including listening to classic country music—especially George Jones—cheering on the Tennessee Titans, watching Monday Night Raw, and challenging anyone brave enough to a fierce game of Uno.
In addition to her parents, Winnie was preceded in death by her siblings, Faye, Carl, William, Robert, and Larry.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Robert Sparks; daughters, Lorie Cooper and Wendy (Joe) Anderson; grandchildren, Michael (Amber) Cooper, Matthew Cooper, Ethan Anderson, Brianna Counts, Lucas Anderson, and Max Anderson; great-granddaughters, Sierra, Rylee, Ava, and Ireland; siblings, Judy, Mary, Teri, Rita, Vernon, Charlie, Ed, and Doyle; brothers and sisters in law Bill, John, Sheila, Sue (Stacey), Vonda , Ed, Anita and Leona ; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff of Gentiva Hospice, especially nurses Sara and Tim, Dr. Kennedy, Dr. Richardson, and Dr. Spooner, as well as the staff of Mount Pleasant Health and Rehabilitation, for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Winnie and her family throughout her journey.
Though her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and in the love she shared so freely throughout her life. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will never be forgotten.
